How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There is no artificial two-file or five-file cap per session. Practical limits come from upload size and processing time on very large scans — split or compress first when individual files exceed a few hundred megabytes.
Will merging reduce quality?
No. Merge copies existing page objects without re-encoding text streams. Image quality matches each source file unless you later run compress with an aggressive preset.
Do bookmarks and outlines survive?
Named destinations and outlines reference original page indices. After reordering, bookmarks may point to the wrong section — verify navigation in the merged output before filing. For bookmark-critical volumes, test a draft merge first.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
You must unlock files with the known password first using remove PDF password. Merge operates on decrypted page streams.
What if one file is corrupt?
Each upload validates before entering the merge graph. A bad trailer in one file fails that file instead of producing a zero-byte combined download — re-export the problem PDF from its source application.
